A user I invited to join our tenant got the error message: “A sign-in link can only be used once” though the link wasn’t used.
Upon inviting a new user to your tenant, the user will receive an email invitation asking them to follow a link and set up a password to their account. Alternatively, you can send them the link yourself by copying it from the user invite process.

This link will become unavailable in two scenarios:
The user clicked the link once and opened the password setup page (even if they eventually didn’t set up a password).
The expiration timeframe for the link has passed before the user had a chance to open it.
In both cases, we suggest deleting the user entirely and re-inviting them. Once this is one, make sure the user is using the latest link provided.
The expiration date on our user invitation links is too long/too short.
You can change the timeframe of the user invitation link expiration during the user invite process.
