# User roles and permissions

Hunters supports 3 types of roles:

- [**Generic roles**](/v1/docs/generic-roles) - these roles represent several SOC team functions such as Analyst, Advanced Analyst, Data Engineer, and more.
- [**Feature-based roles**](/v1/docs/feature-based-roles) - these roles are specific to a feature and providing them to a user will give the user access to the specific feature.
- [**MSSP-related roles**](/v1/docs/mssp-related-roles) - these roles are mostly relevant to MSSPs and their unique workflows.
