How can I tell if my data sources are working properly?
You can monitor the health of your data sources and flows using 3 methods:
Periodically entering the Data Sources page to examine your connected data flows.
Setting up notification settings by email.
Setting up the data health monitoring API to alert on the health of your data flows.
There’s an Error indication next to my connected data source. What should I do?
If one or more of your connected data sources are in Error status, hover over the Error indication to present the underlying issue.
The table below specifies the possible data source errors and how to handle them
Issue type | About the issue | Next steps |
---|---|---|
Configuration issue | Something went wrong with Hunters' ability to reach the data due to a permissions/authentication issue. | Open the data source set up page and click Test Connection to confirm that the details provided in the connection process, such as API key, bucket name, etc., are still valid. |
Internal issue | Something went wrong. We are aware and on the case. | Reach out to Hunters support to learn more about the issue. |
Vendor issue | Something went wrong with the connected vendor service. | Reach out to the vendor's support to learn what went wrong. |
I see a Configuration Issue error. What should I do?
If one or more of your connected data sources show a configuration issue, it means there’s a problem with the authentication details provided to Hunters, which prevents the system from connecting to your data source.
To solve this, perform the following steps:
Open the data source setup page on the Hunters platform and make sure the connection details you provided, such as bucket name or API key, are correct.
Log into your data source system and make sure your authentication details haven’t expired. If expired, regenerate new tokens or keys and enter them in the data source setup page on the Hunters platform.
I see a Vendor Issue error. What should I do?
A vendor issue means something is wrong on the side of the data provider. Reach out to their support to learn what happened and what you can do to fix it.
Can I alert on active data sources that have not ingested for X days?
Due to the varying nature of data across different types and customers, Hunters does not generate alerts for data that hasn’t been ingested within a specific timeframe (X days/hours). However, the Health API provides a property called last_insertion_time
, which you can leverage to detect stopped data streams.
Can I mute alerts on a specific data source?
Yes, if a data source is being too noisy you can mute it from sending notifications. For now you can do this but reaching out to Hunters Support and in the future you’ll be able to do this on the platform.
