# Enable two-factor authentication

Two-factor authentication adds a security layer to your platform access and requires you to provide more than a password to access the platform.

**To enable two-factor authentication:**

1. {{snippet.administration}}
2. Click **Privacy and Security** and then switch on the **Multi-factor Authentication** toggle.

    The Multi-factor Authentication pop-up opens.

3. Use your phone to scan the following QR code with Google Authenticator or other authenticator apps.
4. Enter the time-sensitive 6-digit code in the required field.
5. Click **Verify**.
