# Configure lockout

Hunters users can define how many incorrect password a user can try before they get locked out. 

**To configure lockout:**

1. {{snippet.administration}}
2. From the left side menu, click **Security**.
3. Under the General Settings tab, click the edit icon next to the **User Lockout** option.

3. Enter the number of maximum password tries and then click **Save**.
